The Heart In Avulsion

Naked, I buckled
my legs to my
chest and felt
tears pressed
against my knees,
I inhaled and exhaled
with growing tremble,
I was where
I should have been,
in abandonment;
the only truth
to my world has
left me in my
absence.
Disastrous—
the words followed
like a fast train

and I wrote
a suicide letter
to myself.
